On 16 August 2018, Cadet Sergeant Aldous received the Wing Commander’s commendation. This award it can be given out to any cadets that the Wing Commander feels has shown the best qualities of an air cadet and is an example of the ethos of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. This is a very prestigious award and only 6 have been given out in Norfolk and Suffolk Wing in the past 3 years.

Cadet Sergeant Aldous received this commendation for assisting a member of the public who was involved in a minor car accident on the evening of Wednesday 27th of June 2018.

Wing Commander David Miller commented “Cadet Sergeant Aldous exemplified all the positive aspects of being a Royal Air Force Air Cadet as he provided a calm and reassuring voice and welcome distraction from the events in distressing circumstances almost valuable.”.

Cadet Sgt Aldous reacted to this award by saying “the award was a complete surprise, as I was only acting upon the training provided by the air cadets.”
